1.05GW! PowerChina Wins EPC Contract for Largest PV Project in the Philippines

PVTIME – PowerChina, a leading integrated construction group providing services in clean and low-carbon energy, water resources, environmental construction and infrastructure, recently signed an EPC contract with Manila Electric Co. for the Terra PV solar project, the largest in the Philippines.

PowerChina will manage the eastern portion of the project, which has an installed capacity of 1.05 GW and covers approximately 1,505 hectares, including Barangay Makabaklay in Gapan, Barangay Pias in General Tinio and Barangay Callos in Peñaranda. It is part of a landmark renewable energy project in Central Luzon, comprising a 3.5GWp solar power plant combined with a 4.5GWh energy storage system, which will provide clean and sustainable electricity to over 2 million households.

Under the agreement, PowerChina’s services include engineering, procurement, construction and project execution. It also includes warranties, troubleshooting and long-term operation and maintenance protocols to ensure reliability and sustainability.
