PVTIME – Suzhou Empire New Energy Ltd., a solar module manufacturer in China, announced that it has signed an investment agreement with the local government of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, China, to build an HJT solar cell and module production project.
This project is designed to produce 10GW of high-efficiency HJT solar cells and modules per year, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan.
Dr Zhang Lingjun’s team at Tsinghua University will be invited to build intelligent, digitised, high-efficiency, low-cost heterojunction cell/module production lines for this project, as well as to set up next-generation tandem cell production lines.
