PVTIME – JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd.(JA Solar)(002459.SZ) continues to expand production as it announced plans to invest 10 billion yuan to set up solar cell and module manufacturing projects in Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province, China.
The first solar module production line is expected to start up in July 2023 and the solar cell production line in October 2023, with annual sales of more than 5 billion yuan expected within a year. And once in operation, the whole project is estimated to generate annual sales of 30 billion yuan.
In addition, according to its 2022 annual report, JA Solar shipped 39.75GW of solar cells and modules in 2022, including 672MW for its own use, with overseas module shipments accounting for about 58% of the total. Meanwhile, its module production capacity had reached nearly 50GW by the end of 2022, with silicon wafer and cell production capacity accounting for about 80% of module production capacity.
