PVTIME – SOFAR Solar, a prominent worldwide provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions, recently signed an inverter supply agreement with Velan Infran, a well-regarded company that is involved in the establishment of solar power projects throughout India, for the development of solar plants in the Tamil Nadu State of India.
SOFAR will supply 100MW of its 255KTL-HV utility string inverters for the PV project, which is expected to be completed by November 2023. These inverters are highly efficient and reliable products designed for utility solar plants. The device includes 12 maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) with a maximum efficiency of up to 99.02%, providing optimal value to end-users. Its IP66 and C5 protection ensures stability during operation under varying weather conditions with an AC/DC power supply design. It is monitored continuously to detect power failures and scan the I-V curve for real-time performance evaluation.
Once the project is fully connected to the grid, the proportion of local clean energy usage is expected to increase. This will gradually promote India’s low-carbon energy transition process.
We chose SOFAR as our inverter supplier because of their high efficiency, easy installation and maintenance design, as well as their local technical support and global acceptance. Mr. G. Shanmugavel, the Chairman & MD of Velan Infra Projects Private Limited, expressed his interest in continuing to work with SOFAR for their future projects.
SOFAR shipped over 2GW to India by H1 2023. Jesse Lau, the Head of APAC and MEA Region at SOFAR, expressed his satisfaction in providing their innovative solutions for Velan Infra’s projects. He also added that SOFAR will continue working on technological innovation and service optimization to further expand their business layout and meet the demands of localized service support in India.
