10GW! DAS Solar Expands Solar Module Capacity in China

PVTIME – On 13 July 2024, DAS Solar’s 10GW high-efficiency solar module project in Jingshan City, China, became fully operational.

This manufacturing base was launched in the fourth quarter of 2022 with a total investment of more than 6 billion yuan. The first phase was put into operation in March 2023 with an investment of 2 billion yuan. By the end of 2023, it had produced 3.18GW of high-efficiency n-type solar modules, with an average monthly output value of about 500 million yuan and an annual output value of 3.5 billion yuan, using state-of-the-art technology, equipment and automated production lines. The second phase of the project, which is commissioned in July 2024, will make the Jingshan plant the largest PV module production base in central China, with an estimated annual output value of more than 20 billion yuan.

In addition, about 1,200 jobs are available for local people. And the new module factory will drive the prosperous development of the upstream industries of the photovoltaic industry, such as glass and aluminium frame manufacturing.
