PVTIME – Recently, an HJT tandem solar cell production base was approved by the local government of Anhui Province, China.
This particular project was initiated by Huainan Yiheng Solar Technology Company, which was established in September 2023. It is designed to produce 10GW of high-efficiency G12 HJT tandem cells (210mm*105mm) per year, with a total investment of 6.572 billion yuan (approximately US$912.85 million).
The first phase of the project is ready to start with an investment of 1.577 billion yuan (approximately US$219 million) to produce 2.4GW of HJT tandem cells per year, as well as a pilot line for 100MW perovskite tandem cells. The second phase, with a production capacity of 7.6GW of HJT tandem cells, will then be launched depending on market conditions.
