PVTIME – On 18th August 2023, Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co., Ltd. (Chint/Astronergy) (601877.SH) and the People’s Government of Pingyang County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province held a signing ceremony for an offshore photovoltaic project.
A fishery and photovoltaic project with an installed capacity of 2GW will be initiated and completed between 2024 and 2030 with a whopping investment of 11 billion yuan, utilising marine resources in the Songbu-Xiwan coastal area of Pingyang County, China. It seeks to establish a green, zero-carbon economy and facilitate a clean energy application model comprising “photovoltaic power generation + modern fishery aquaculture + new energy storage.”
Over a period of 25 years in management, it is estimated that an average annual output of around 2.57 billion kWh of clean electricity has been produced for Pingyang County. Additionally, the average annual output value is approximately 1.22 billion yuan with a further contribution of 20 million yuan in taxes upon completion.
