PVTIME – A ceremony was recently held in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Region, China, to mark the start of construction of a 3GW solar power plant.
The project was launched by Hunan Energy Investment Group, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan (approximately US$1.679 billion). It will generate 5.9TWh of clean electricity per year for Hunan Province via UHV DC lines. In addition, the project will restore the desert by planting vegetation around the solar plants.
