PVTIME – On 13 December 2023, Xinjiang Daqo New Energy Co., Ltd. (Daqo Energy, 688303.SH), a subsidiary of Daqo New Energy Corp.(NYSE: DQ), a leading manufacturer of high purity polysilicon for the global solar PV industry, announced that it recently signed an investment agreement with Xinjiang Tianfu Energy Co.,Ltd. (Tianfu Energy, 600509.SH) and the local government to build a silicon material production base in Shihezi City, China.
The entire production base will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, Daqo Energy aims to achieve an annual output of 50,000 tonnes of polycrystalline silicon, 150,000 tonnes of industrial silicon and 1.2 million round silicon cores, with an investment of 7.5 billion yuan. In the second phase, the production capacity will be 50,000 tonnes of polycrystalline silicon and 150,000 tonnes of industrial silicon, with a further investment of 7.5 billion yuan.
