1GW! Indian PV Manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy Wins TOPCon Module Order

PVTIME – Indian PV manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy has announced a new order for 1GW of n-type TOPCon PV modules. Saatvik Green has entered into an agreement with a leading power generator to supply n-type TOPCon solar modules to this partner from its manufacturing facility in Haryana, India.

Saatvik Green’s current module production capacity is said to be 3.8GW, which is expected to increase to 7.8GW per year by December 2025, at which time another production facility with a capacity of 3GW of solar cells will be operational.

In addition, Given Saatvik Green is engaged in vertical integration of PV product manufacturing, with a factory under construction to produce 2GW per year of encapsulation materials, including aluminium frames, junction boxes and aluminium strips.

Indian PV cell and module manufacturers have become increasingly active since 2024. India’s previous reliance on the assembly of PV modules using Chinese cells is changing, with a new government mandate aimed at rapidly increasing domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity.

Research firm Mercom India expects India’s cell manufacturing capacity to increase significantly to more than 80GW by 2026. By that year, this figure will account for almost 50% of the 172GW of module capacity expected to come online.
