PVTIME – On 9 June 2023, Shuangliang Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the start of construction of the PI 25GW large-scale silicon wafer project.
This particular project was part of a new energy production base initiated and launched by Shuangliang Group and its subsidiaries to provide silicon wafers, solar modules, PV packaging materials and hydrogen energy generation systems to overseas customers.
The first phase of the 25GW wafer project was jointly invested by Shuangliang Group and Zhejiang Sunrev Group, a company specialising in the R&D and production of monocrystalline silicon wafers, large monocrystalline silicon cells and large high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, as well as the installation and operation of photovoltaic power plants, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan. And it is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and to start production in February 2024, with expected sales of around 10 billion yuan.
