PVTIME – Recently, the 2.6GW Al Shuaibah ASB 1 and 2 PV projects were connected to the grid and successfully started generating power.

The project company is Shuaibah Holding Company with a total investment of USD 2.37 billion, of which ACWA Power owns 35.01%. The two projects are scheduled to be commercially operational in 2025, ASB-1 in February 2025 and ASB-2 in November 2025.
China Energy, a leading power engineering and construction company, provided the EPC services for this large-scale solar power plant, which is the largest PV project completed by China Energy outside of China.
It is part of PIF’s commitment to develop 70% of Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy by 2030, in line with the country’s National Renewable Energy Programme.
