PVTIME – Xinjiang Daqo New Energy Co., Ltd. (688303.SH), a subsidiary of Daqo New Energy Corp. (NYSE: DQ) a leading manufacturer of high-purity polysilicon for the global solar PV industry, announced that it currently operates two polysilicon production bases in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, with a total production capacity of 205,000 MT, of which 105,000 MT is in the Xinjiang base. For the Inner Mongolia base, 100,000 MT in the first phase has reached production in June 2023, and another 100,000 MT in the second phase is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 2023.
According to Daqo’s unaudited Q2 2023 results, its polysilicon production volume was 45,306 MT in Q2 2023 compared to 33,848 MT in Q1 2023. And its polysilicon sales volume was 51,550 MT in Q2 2023, compared to 25,284 MT in Q1 2023.
For the third quarter, Daqo expects total polysilicon production volume to be approximately 55,000 MT to 57,000 MT, representing an increase of 21% to 26% compared to Q2 2023. Full year polysilicon production is expected to be approximately 193,000 MT to 198,000 MT, an increase of 44% to 48% compared to 2022. In addition, based on the latest schedule, the new semiconductor-grade polysilicon project with an annual capacity of 1,000 MT is expected to start pilot production by the end of September 2023, according to Mr Longgen Zhang of Daqo New Energy. With Daqo’s fully digitalised and highly automated production system, which optimises operational efficiency, improves cost structure and further enhances product quality for the n-type polysilicon product, Daqo is confident that its Inner Mongolia project will further strengthen the company’s competitive edge.
