24.8%! LONGi Release Hi-MO X10 New Solar Module Based on HPBC2.0 with High Efficiency in Mass Production

PVTIME – On 11 October, LONGi, the PV giant, unveiled its brand new generation Hi-MO X10 solar module at a press event held at the ATP Masters in Shanghai. The latest solar panel, based on its HPBC2.0 technology, opens a new chapter in the mass production of 24.8% high-efficiency solar products and continues to lead the reform of the industry.

LONGi’s Hi-MO X10 module is a high-quality module with leading power generation performance, reliability, customer benefits and aesthetics, with the highest mass-produced power of 670W, which is more than 30W higher than the industry’s mainstream TOPCon module. LONGi’s new modules are available in four versions with power ratings up to 665W, measuring 2,382mm x 1,134mm x 30mm and weighing 33.5kg. With an efficiency of 24.8%, they once again break the world record for the highest module efficiency in volume production.

The new products come with a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power output warranty. The modules are designed to have an annual linear degradation rate of 0.35% over 30 years, with a limit of 1.0% in the first year. Their temperature coefficient is -0.26% per ℃.

These new modules are 1% more efficient than their predecessors. They are built using 182mm n-type TaiRay wafers, which are touted as a breakthrough in silicon technology. These wafers are said to improve resistance uniformity, minimise metal impurities and provide superior mechanical strength.

Using HPBC2.0 cells, the mass production efficiency of the cell is more than 26.6%, which is the last generation of crystalline silicon cells to achieve an absolute efficiency of 1%, ushering in the new era of BC technology.

Another feature is the zero busbar (0BB) design, which eliminates busbars and grid lines on both the front and back of the module. This design maximises light absorption at the front and increases the efficiency of reflected light collection at the back, shortening the current transmission path and further increasing module power by 5W+. It also allows the aesthetics of the back of the cell to be further optimised.

In addition to safety and reliability, what does a 30W increase in power and a 1% increase in efficiency mean for the same area? It means that the installed capacity of the Hi-MO X10 is increased by more than 5% for the same roof area. Simulations of power generation in typical areas around the world show that the average power generation has increased by more than 8% compared to TOPCon products.
