25.82%! LONGi Breaks World Record for HJT Cell Conversion Efficiency Once Again

PVTIME – Recently, LONGi’s M6 silicon-based heterojunction (HJT) solar cell was tested by the ISFH (Institute for Solar Energy Research GmbH) and its conversion efficiency reached 25.82%, breaking the world record.

In June of this year, LONGi set a new world record for HJT cell conversion efficiency at 25.26%. Now, just four months later, LONGi has done it again. The research and development of HJT technology is an important indicator of LONGi’s efforts of leading the global energy transformation with technological innovation.

Based on the industrialization of new high-efficiency cell technology, LONGi’s R&D center insists on independent originality and promotes the technological advancement of the photovoltaic industry. The breakthrough of the HJT cell efficiency record this time shows the outstanding technical strength of the LONGi technology research and development team. With a high proportion of R&D investment (not less than 5% of revenue per year), LONGi has maintained a global leadership in the research and development of various advanced cutting-edge cell technologies.

Since its establishment, LONGi has always regarded technological innovation as the primary driver of its development. In January 2019, the conversion efficiency of its monocrystalline bifacial PERC cell reached 24.06% and this record still stands. In the field of N-type TOPCon cells, LONGi announced in June that its conversion efficiency had achieved a world record of 25.21%. In the field of P-type TOPCon cells, LONGi achieved a world record conversion efficiency of 25.19% in July this year, further demonstrating LONGi’s technical prowess.

Innovation is the heart and soul of LONGi’s product strategy. LONGi stated that in the future it will continue to increase technological innovation, create greater value for the market with more high-quality, reliable and efficient products, and further contribute to the realization of the China’s dual-carbon goal.
