28.24%! Auner Sets World Record for G12H Perovkite/Si Tandem Cell Efficiency

PVTIME – Beijing Yaoneng Technology Co. (Auner), a Chinese developer of perovskite and crystalline silicon lamination photovoltaic technology and manufacturer of photovoltaic cells and modules, recently announced a world record efficiency achieved by its G12H perovskite and silicon tandem solar cell, which has been confirmed by China’s National Institute of Metrology, an authorised third party testing organisation.

The new breakthrough is an important step for Auner’s perovskite tandem solar cell to move from pilot lines to mass production, leveraging improved packaging and processing for commercial grade tandem solar cells.

In addition, this particular new record confirms Auner’s leading position in the R&D of perovskite silicon tandem solar cells, as the large size perovskite cells are closer to meeting the mass production needs of the PV industry, while the efficiency of the small size cells is considered to indicate the potential of perovskite tandem cell technology.

In addition, a pilot production base with a production capacity of 2MW of perovskite products has been established by Auner in Beijing City, China, in early 2023, and is currently starting the process development of the M6-G12 cell on an industrial scale, which has been operational within the year 2023, as a wide range of issues in the production of large size perovskite cells, including methods and processing, need to be addressed for commercialisation. The first mass production pilot line with a production capacity of 100 MW of perovskite silicon tandem solar cells is planned for 2024. Focusing on perovskite cell technology and processing, Auner is continuously making breakthroughs to lead the PV industry in perovskite cells and modules.
