PVTIME – Recently, a large n-type solar cell and module factory, jointly initiated by Egypt TEDA Sezone Development Co. and EliTe Solar, started construction in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone.
More than 150 million yuan (approximately US$21.09 million) will be invested in the construction and operation of the solar cell factory. The facilities are expected to be completed and operational by September 2025.
Upon completion, the project will generate 500 million kWh of electricity annually, saving approximately 307 million tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting 84 million trees.
In addition, EliTe Solar says it has a further plan to build PV manufacturing bases in the Middle East to reach a production capacity of 8GW of solar products. These projects will introduce advanced technologies and management systems to optimise the supply chain and promote the deployment of solar PV systems for the region.
