PVTIME – Runergy, a renowned solar cell manufacturer, recently announced that its new solar module factory in Huntsville, Alabama, US is now operational.
This facility has an annual production capacity of 2GW and will fulfil its first order this month. It is an important milestone in Runergy’s global expansion strategy to meet the growing demand for solar energy, especially in North America with a reliable local supply chain.
Runergy’s global production footprint includes silicon, wafer, solar cell and module factories in China, Thailand, Vietnam and now the US, since it started R&D, production and sales of high-efficiency solar products in 2013. Its cumulative solar cell shipments exceeded 65GW by the end of 2023. Now, Runergy has successfully established itself as a prominent solar module brand in the US, recognised by BloombergNEF as a Tier 1 module manufacturer. Runergy is committed to delivering high-performance solar products and working with global partners to accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future.
The establishment of Runergy’s factory is expected to create numerous jobs in Alabama, stimulating the local economy and contributing to the development of the renewable energy workforce. Other industries related to solar manufacturing, such as logistics and materials supply, may also benefit from Runergy’s presence in the region.
