PVTIME – On 19 September 2023, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (LONGi)(601012.SH) the PV giant announced its intention to invest in a high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell project in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, China.
According to the announcement, approximately 3.915 billion yuan will be invested by LONGi Tongchuan, a subsidiary of LONGi Leye, for the lease of equipment and ancillary facilities. The project is expected to gradually start operation in November 2023 and reach full operation in November 2025, with an annual output of 12GW of HPBC pro cells.
LONGi stated that the project will dramatically expand LONGi’s high-efficiency solar cell production capacity and is an important step in promoting HPBC products in the solar PV market. As a leader in the solar industry, technology innovation and high supply volume of cutting-edge products is the core factor for LONGi to enhance its profitability and market competitiveness.
