PVTIME – Trina Solar, a leading global module manufacturer, has recently signed an investment agreement with the People’s Government of Huai’an City for the construction of a monocrystalline wafer production project with an expected production capacity of 50GW per year.
In September 2022, the two sides had started cooperation in the production of PV products. Then, in April 2023, Trina Solar had invested an additional 5 billion yuan in a new project to produce the new generation of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells, the construction of which will start soon.
By further developing the upstream and downstream industrial chain, expanding the business layout and forming industrial aggregation, the new 50GW wafer project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 30 billion yuan after commissioning.
