530MW! PowerChina Wins Panama PV Plant EPC Contract

PVTIME – PowerChina, a leading integrated construction group providing services in clean and low-carbon energy, water resources, environmental construction and infrastructure, recently signed an EPC contract for the 530MW PV project with an energy company in its Panama office.

The new PV project will be located in the city of Sermeño, Panama, with a total installed capacity of 530 MW. And PowerChina will provide services including design, procurement, construction and installation, commissioning, trial operation, performance testing and troubleshooting of the solar power plant, booster station and transmission lines.

The project will significantly increase Panama’s clean energy supply and help the country achieve its carbon neutrality target, while creating a large number of jobs.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Panama, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has achieved positive results, bringing tangible benefits to Panama. In recent years, the Panamanian government has actively promoted the development of clean energy, increased investment in photovoltaic solar power, and the number of photovoltaic users has grown rapidly, creating a wide market opportunity for international enterprises, including Chinese enterprises.
