PVTIME – On August 19, the People’s Government of Shandong Province announced the issuance of its 14th Five-Year Plan for Energy Development.
With 2020 as the base year, the planning period covers 2021 to 2025, with a long-term outlook to 2035. Shandong Province has clearly defined that, focusing mainly on wind and photovoltaic power generation, the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation in Shandong will reach over 80GW by 2025, with 90GW set us a more optimistic target.
In terms of photovoltaic power generation, the province will vigorously accelerate the development of centralize photovoltaic power stations by making use of saline-alkali tidal flats in Weifang, Binzhou, Dongying, and other cities and the coal mining subsidence areas in Jining, Taian, Heze, Zaozhuang, etc. At the same time, the province will also encourage the adoption of solar fisheries and farms.
In terms of distributed photovoltaics, the province will adhere to the “Notice on Actively Developing Distributed Photovoltaics on Rooftops of Entire Counties (District) Pilot Project” and establish a low-carbon development “Hundred Townships and Thousand Villages” demonstration project. The proportion of photovoltaic installations of the total roof area for Party and government agencies should be no less than 50%, no less than 40% for schools and hospitals, no less than 30% for industrial and commercial zones, and no less than 20% for all residential rooftops.
By 2025, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation in Shandong will reach 57GW.
