PVTIME – On July 12, Xinjiang Daqo New Energy Co., Ltd. (688303.SH), announced that it has signed an Investment Agreement with the People’s Government of Guyang County of Baotou City for silicon production projects with a total investment of 6 billion yuan.
According to the announcement, the silicon projects will be located in the Jinshan Industrial Park in Baotou City, to achieve an annual output of 300,000 MT of high-purity industrial silicon and an output of 200,000 MT of organic silicon, in three phases.
The first phase is planned to achieve an annual output of 150,000 MT of high-purity industrial silicon production in the third quarter of 2023. The timetable of the second phase will be adjusted with the progress of the second phase of silicon project (200,000 MT/year) initiated by Inner Mongolia Daqo, and production goal for this phase is as same as the first phase. For the third phase, the production capacity is expected to be 200,000 MT of organic silicon per year, yet this phase will be launched as relevant industrial policies and investment requirements are fulfilled.
