PVTIME – On November 23, JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (002459.SZ), a leading manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic products, disclosed that it intends to upgrade its integrated production projects via expanding solar cell and module production capacity in Yangzhou City and Qujing City of China, with a total investment of 7.44 billion yuan.
According to the announcement, a 10GW high-efficiency solar cell project will be added in Yanzhou City, and the phase IV of PV project located in Qujing City will be launched to reach an annual output of 10GW solar cell and 5GW module as well.
What is more, JA Solar has signed an agreement to launch R&D center and intelligent factory engages on silicon slices, solar cells and modules production in Shijiazhuang City of China on November 2022, with a total investment of 10.2 billion yuan.
It is expected to reach a production capacity of 50GW solar module by the end of 2022 and then 75GW by the end of 2023, while the production capacity of wafer and solar cells remaining at about 80% of that of module, JA Solar stated.
