PVTIME – China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd. (Three Gorges/CTGR, 600905.SH), China Three Gorges Corporation’s (CTG) alternative energy subsidiary, responsible for CTG’s new energy business and its mission to develop new energy, recently announced that it will invest in a major renewable energy base in the Inner Mongolia region of China.

The project will be initiated by a subsidiary of Three Gorges in Inner Mongolia. According to the announcement, a total of 79.79 billion yuan (about US$10.98 billion) will be invested to build 8GW of solar power, 4GW of wind power, 200MW of photothermal power, 4GW of coal-fired power and a new type of energy storage system with a capacity of 5GWh. And the electricity generated by this special hugh plant will be transformed to Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei regions, China.
