7GW! P1 of Solar Frame and Mounting System Project to Be Launched in Laos

PVTIME – Recently, a solar frame and mounting system manufacturing project was launched in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, by Alumsun Technology Sole Co. Ltd. (Gstar), a renowned Chinese provider of renewable energy solutions.

The first phase of the project, with a total investment of 500 million yuan, will produce 30,000MT of solar frames to meet the demand for 7GW of PV module mounting. And the whole project will produce solar frames for 12GW of solar module mounting when both the first and second phases are completed.

The project is part of Gstar’s integrated solar manufacturing in South East Asia. In 2024, it is expected to reach a production capacity of 3GW of ingots, 3GW of wafers, 3GW of solar cells, 12GW of frames and 3GW of modules. Meanwhile, a silicon ingot slicing plant is under construction in Indonesia.
