PVTIME – JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (JA Solar)(002459.SZ) continues to expand production as it announced on 14 July 2023 that it plans to issue convertible bonds to unspecified parties for a maximum amount of 8,960,307,700 yuan, which will be used for a total of 45GW of solar cell and module manufacturing, silicon material processing, and additional working capital after deducting the issue costs.
The silicon material processing project is expected to be completed within 32 months, while the two solar cell and module production projects will be operational within 2 years. The new investment is in line with the company’s strategic development plan and is expected to increase its profitability in the PV industry.
