PVTIME – A new pilot line for the production of perovskite solar cells has been approved by the administrative committee of Xinzhan Hi-Tech Zone, Hefei City, Anhui Province, China.
The project is initiated by Hefei BOE PV Company, a holding subsidiary of BOE Technology Group Co. (BOE), a leading IoT company providing intelligent interface products and professional services for information interaction and human health. It is planned to invest 871 million yuan (approximately US$119.85 million) to set up the pilot line for perovskite solar cells. It is designed to produce 912,500 cells per year, but these cells will only be used for subsequent R&D testing and exhibition, not for sale as products. This particular pilot line is an additional part of BOE’s project focused on R&D of high-efficiency perovskite thin-film solar cells, which was approved in May 2024.
BOE started its photovoltaic business, especially perovskite solar cells, in November 2023. Then, its PV subsidiary was established in March 2024, with a registered capital of 99.1 million yuan (approximately US$13.6 million), mainly engaged in the sale of photovoltaic equipment and products, and the manufacture of photovoltaic equipment and products.
