PVTIME – Recently, Hoshine Silicon Industry Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Hoshine Silicon or company) and Urumqi City People’s Government, China, signed a cooperation framework agreement to invest 35.5 billion yuan in a silicon-based new material project.
This project will launch in the Ganquanpu Economic and Technological Development Zone in Urumqi City in March next year, providing job opportunity for approximately 17,000 people. The project will focus on new silicon-based materials, including monocrystalline slicing, battery modules, photovoltaic power generation and relevant subjects, which is expected to be completed and put into production in 2024.
Hoshine Silicon is one of the core industries of Ningbo Hoshine Group Co., Ltd. It is a national-level key high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production and sales focusing on new silicon-based materials. The company has a whole silicon industry chain, in which industrial silicon production has ranked first in China for six years, while organic silicon production capacity is the first in China. It is a leading double-lead enterprise in Chinese silicon-based industry.
Silicon-based new materials are a emerging industry in China. After the project is completed, the entire industrial chain of silicon-based slicing upstream, photovoltaic modules and photovoltaic power generation downstream will be formed well in Urumqi City and will promote the “dual carbon”goal of China.
