PVTIME – According to the latest data released by China National Energy Administration, in 2021, the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, the total installed capacity of photovoltaic projects that newly grid-connected in China is about 53GW, ranking first in the world for 9 consecutive years. As of the end of 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic projects connected to grid reached 306GW, breaking the 300GW mark and ranking first in the world for seven consecutive years.
The installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic projects in China reached 107.5GW, exceeding 100GW, accounting for about one-third of total installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation with grid-connected in the country.
The total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic projects for newly grid-connected is increased by about 29GW, accounting for about 55% of installed capacity of all newly added photovoltaic projects, and exceeded 50% for the first time.
For distributed projects, the total installed capacity of household photovoltaic exceeded 20GW in 2021, reaching about 21.5GW, following the fist time of exceeding 10GW in 2020. The household photovoltaic projects play an important role for China to achieve its Dual Carbon Goal and rural revitalization as scheduled.
Furthermore, according to the information (organized by the NEA’s information management center) submitted by the provincial energy authorities and power grid enterprises, the total installed capacity of residential photovoltaic projects newly included in the national financial subsidy in December 2021 was 5.0898GW. As of the end of December 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of residential photovoltaic projects included in the 2021 national financial subsidy budget is 21.5962GW.
