Munich 30. May 2012: Talesun, a leading international producer of high quality solar modules and cells, receives the quality mark from the Association for Electrical,Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE) for its product line TP660P. The certification recognizes the module’s high degree of reliability, optimal functionality and low rate of degradation, as well as the continual quality control throughout the production process.
The award is the first time that the VDE Institute and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) have awarded the mark for safety and quality in solar modules to a Chinesebased
manufacturer. The two test-centres inspected Talesun Solar’s TP660P product-line in extensive testing over a number of months. Talesun, who made their market debut as recently as 2010, have grown steadily, both in terms of project size and their reputation within the sector.
Strict Criteria The VDE is known within the photovoltaic industry as having extremely rigorous test criteria,with only very few companies in the sector being in a position to meet them. During the evaluation of the quality attributes, testers place particular emphasis on the reliability and operational safety aspects. This involves the use of multiple samples with controls carried out
over extended test periods and cycles. In addition, both institutes undertake further dynamic and mechanical load-testing on the modules as well as mechanical testing of the connections
under heightened conditions.
Strict pass / fail criteria are applied within the context of the degradation testing. The maximum performance degradation permitted over the increased sequence of testing is five percent.
