PVTIME – On December 9, Trina solar, a global PV and smart energy solutions provider, released an announcement that it intends to purchase 10.583GW PERC solar cell from Tonghe New Energy (Jintang) Co., Ltd. (Tonghe Jingtang), a holding subsidiary of Tongwei Solar.
According to the announcement, the company expects Tonghe Jintang to supply 2,368MW 182mm solar cell and 8,215MW 210mm ones to Trina Solar from January 1st to December 31, 2023.
It is estimated that the total purchase value will be 13.97 billion yuan (tax included) according to the latest average price of monocrystalline PERC cells released by PVInfoLink, yet the actual transaction amount shall be subject to the monthly negotiation between the two sides based on the market condition.
What is more, Tonghe Jintang is managed as a related party of Trina Solar until February 28, 2023, as a joint venture of Tongwei Solar and Trina Solar, of which Tongwei Solar holds 65% while Trina Solar holds 35% of the equity of Tonghe Jintang.
