PVTIME – Recently, Sinosteel Samancor Chromium and CGN Energy International Holdings Co., Limited (CGNEI) entered into a power purchase agreement for the Sinosteel Samancor TFC 100,000 kilowatt solar photovoltaic power plant project in South Africa.
Under the new partnership, Samancor and CGNEI will jointly develop and construct the 100MW PV plant, which is the largest privately owned renewable energy project in South Africa to enter into a PPA.
The clean electricity generated by this special solar project will be supplied primarily to the TFC smelter and will significantly reduce the workshop’s energy costs. It is also an important step in supporting South Africa’s energy transition and addressing the local electricity shortage.
