PVTIME – DAH Solar Co, Ltd, an innovation-driven and technology-leading PV product manufacturer, signed a cooperation agreement with China Three Gorges Corporation Shanxi Branch and the Management Committee of Jinzhong Development Zone, Shanxi Province, China on 19 July 2023. The three parties plan to build an integrated PV manufacturing base in Jinzhong City with a total investment of 5 billion yuan.
According to the agreement, the 65.89-acre integrated PV manufacturing facility will have an annual production capacity of 7GW of silicon ingots, 7GW of wafers, 7GW of high-efficiency solar cells and 7GW of modules.
In the first phase of the project, a production capacity of 7GW of PV silicon wafers is planned, with an investment of 2 billion yuan. And it is estimated to achieve an output value of more than 3 billion yuan, taxes paid more than 1.5 billion yuan once operational.
This special high-efficiency PV production base will be an important step for DAH Solar to improve its integrated industrial layout over the next five years. It is expected that the three parties will jointly leverage their advantages to promote the rapid and high-quality development of renewable energy in the region, which is a major supplier of fossil fuels to the country, and contribute to the dual-carbon goals.
