He pointed out that the Northeast has unique locational advantages, abundant resources, a relatively strong industrial base and huge development potential. At present, the promotion of comprehensive revitalisation of the Northeast is facing new great opportunities: to achieve a high level of scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement, which is conducive to the Northeast of science and education and industrial advantages into development advantages; to build a new development pattern, further highlighting the important strategic position of the Northeast; and to promote China-style modernisation. It is believed that the Northeast will be able to revive and make new achievements over the next few years.
Actively cultivate new energy, new materials, advanced manufacturing, electronic information and other emerging industries will benefit the cities in Northeast China. It is crucial to cultivate future industries to accelerate the formation of high-quality productivity in all industries. Renewable energy should be promoted, such as wind power, photovoltaic, nuclear power and other clean energy. The construction of integrated energy bases including wind, solar, nuclear and energy storage will be promoted, President Xi added.
The government should promote industrial innovation with scientific and technological innovation, and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system with the characteristics and advantages of the Northeast.
