PVTIME – On 6 December 2023, Sichuan Qiya Group has confirmed their investment agreement in Kaili City, Guizhou Province of China, for 20GW monocrystalline silicon rods, 20GW photovoltaic slices, 500,000 tonnes of recycled aluminium and 300,000 tonnes of aluminium processing projects.
Additionally, Qiya Silicon Co., a subsidiary of Sichuan Qiya Group, has recently completed the first phase of their high-purity silicon production facility in China. The initial stage of the project aims to generate 100,000 tonnes of high-grade silicon annually, with an investment exceeding 9 billion yuan. Subsequently, the second phase commenced on 1 August 2023, seeking to attain a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of high-purity silicon by October 2024. These initiatives are a constituent part of Qiya’s silicon manufacturing base, aiming for a planned capacity of 400,000 tonnes of high-grade silicon, with a total investment of 32 billion yuan.
