2 Billion Yuan! Jinko Solar to Add 7GW of Capacity for Solar Cells and Modules in Vietnam

PVTIME – On 9 January 2024, a new solar cell and module manufacturing project initiated by Jinko Solar, one of the world’s largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers, was approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Jiangsu Province, China, allowing Jinko Solar to proceed with its plan to establish a solar cell and module manufacturing base in Vietnam within two years.

Jinko Solar plans to launch a new facility in Hai Ha District, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, to produce 4GW of solar cells and 3GW of modules per year. The total investment is estimated at 2,118,222,700 yuan (US$294,197,600).

Jinko Solar has set up factories in Vietnam since 2021 to gradually reach production capacity of 7GW of wafers, 8GW of solar cells and 8GW of modules.
