PVTIME – Sichuan Qiya Group, a leading aluminium material processing company, has announced its plan to invest 10 billion yuan in solar products within two years, while officially establishing its headquarters in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China.
The new plan, which aims to produce 20GW of solar wafers, is an important part of Qiya’s efforts to expand its renewable energy business. Since 2022, the company has been ramping up production of silicon materials, with an investment of more than 60 billion yuan and a production capacity of 400,000MT of metallic silicon, 400,000MT of high-purity crystalline silicon, 100,000MT of monocrystalline silicon, as well as solar and wind power plants and related businesses. In addition, the second phase of its distillation process project has been launched with a total investment of 350 million yuan and is expected to be operational this year, producing 100,000MT of mono-crystalline silicon per year.
