PVTIME – A large-scale solar cell and wafer production project was recently approved by the local government of Quzhou Xity, China.
This particular project was initiated by a subsidiary of Zhejiang Bangjie Holding Group Co (Bangjie, 002634.SZ), formerly Zhejiang Bangjie Digital Knitting Share Co, Ltd, which is mainly engaged in the design, research, development, production and sale of seamless garments, with a total investment of 5.1 billion yuan. And it plans to produce 8GW of high-efficiency solar cells and 16GW of large-size solar wafers per year.
Bangjie’s new subsidiary, Bangjie Solar Technology Co, Ltd. (BAJsolar), was launched in 2022 and is mainly engaged in new energy technology, production and sales of solar PV equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, etc. Currently, its manufacturing base in Yanghzou City is in operation, with a production capacity of 10GW of n-type solar cells in 2023. After the completion of this Quzhou base, BAJsolar is expected to reach a production capacity of 26GW of solar cells, 10GW of modules and 16GW of wafers in 2024.
