Yingli Green Energy Obtains the First JIS Q 8901 Certification from TUV Rheinland Japan

BAODING, China and TOKYO, August 13, 2012  Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited (NYSE: YGE) (“Yingli Green Energy” or the “Company”), a leading solar energy company and one of the world’s largest vertically integrated photovoltaic manufacturers, which markets its products under the brand “Yingli Solar,” today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yingli Green Energy Japan Corporation, Ltd. (“Yingli Japan”) obtained the first JIS Q 8901 Certification from TUV Rheinland Japan Ltd (“TUV Rheinland Japan”).

The JIS Q 8901 Certification was established on February 29, 2012 in the aim to encourage wider adoption of PV power generating systems, as well as to promote product reliability and user protection in Japan solar market. The certification specifies requirements for reliability assurance system concerning design, production and product warranty for PV modules.

“Yingli Green Energy becomes the first PV module manufacturer to obtain the JIS Q 8901 Certification from TUV Rheinland Japan, which demonstrates that Yingli’s products fully meet the strict requirements of Japanese consumers, and will significantly help us develop the industrial and residential market in Japan,” commented Mr. Masaki Mizuta, Managing Director of Yingli Japan. “We expect that the new FiT program started from July 1, 2012 will accelerate the Japan solar market. This certification will be a key factor for us to establish long-term cooperative relations with Japanese consumers and to provide high-quality and competitive products for them.”
