2GW! SANY Silicon to Open Solar Module Factory in Sichuan, China

PVTIME – On 20 September 2024, SANY Silicon started construction of a solar module factory in Sichuan Province, China.

The new facility will be completed within six months by the end of March 2025. It aims to produce 2GW of high-efficiency solar modules with a total investment of 500 million yuan (approximately US$70.85 million).

SANY Silicon, a subsidiary of SANY Group, is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of silicon materials, solar cells and modules, and renewable energy products and equipment. In December 2023, SANY Silicon Energy Zhuzhou Industrial Park was put into operation with a total investment of 2 billion yuan (approximately US$283.4 million), and is expected to produce 5GW of solar products per year, with an annual output value of more than 3 billion yuan (approximately US$425.2 million).
