The funding has been secured from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Province of Groningen and the Investment and Development Agency for the North of the Netherlands. It will be used for the development of MCPV’s new factory, which is expected to be operational as early as 2026 in Veendam, Northern Netherlands, creating more than 600 full-time jobs.

A further agreement has been signed between MCPV and Enexis, a local electricity network operator, to ensure sufficient electricity network capacity for the initial manufacturing facility and future expansion.

Marc Rechter, CEO of MCPV, commented: “On the back of close public-private cooperation, reflected in the approval in 2023 of the significant funding under the National Growth Fund, the MCPV team has further strengthened the company’s position by hitting key project and financial milestones, enabling the kickstart of its implementation phase.”
