PVTIME – On 30 October 2024, Tongwei Solar announced a new world record achieved by its HJT solar module. In its research laboratory, its self-developed THC 210 solar module with a size of 2384*1303mm2 achieved a maximum output power of 776.2W and a conversion efficiency of 24.99%, which was confirmed by TÜV, the authority PV testing institution.
The new milestone is the ninth time that Tongwei Solar has renewed the world records for power output and efficiency of HJT solar products since 2023. And the achievement is very exciting for Tongwei’s new innovation centre, which has been in operation since June 2024. In just four months, the R&D team has improved the efficiency of HJT cells by nearly 0.3% through the optimisation of trap structure, PECVD uniformity, high mobility target stacking, fine line printing and other technologies, and the power of mainstream modules has reached 745 watts. At present, Tongwei has formed an industry-leading HJT + copper interconnect (THL) overall solution in GW-level mass production, and will continue to make efforts in silverless technology for HJT cells to further lead the industry’s advanced technology development.
Tongwei has conducted extensive research and development on the industry’s mainstream TOPCon, HJT, xBC and perovskite-Si tandem cells and modules. Through continuous technology innovation, Tongwei Solar expects to promote the development of clean energy with each of its technological breakthroughs, and create a sustainable and affordable power system with all its valuable partners.
