PVTIME – Microquanta, a leader in perovskite photovoltaic technology, manufacturing and applying perovskite modules for utility-scale solar farms and BIPV, recently announced that it has achieved a conversion efficiency of 23.65% on small perovskite solar modules, which has been certified by Fujian Metrology Institute.
The high conversion efficiency of the perovskite module was achieved by the proprietary cryolaser restoration technology. In addition, the solar cell has excellent resistance to photothermal ageing. The module efficiency degradation rate is less than 5% after exposure to UV aging, which is far higher than the IEC61215 standard (cumulative 200kWh).
At present, the efficiency record of small perovskite solar cells and modules reached 26.7% in the laboratory, but that of large size products is around 22.5%, even lower around 18% for square metre modules. The decrease in conversion efficiency of large perovskite solar products is mainly due to uneven crystallisation. Microquanta believes that this problem could be solved by its creative cryolaser restoration technology to overcome the bottleneck for small size perovskite modules and then improve the conversion efficiency of large size perovskite modules.
