3GW PERC! Solar Cell Factory Operational in US

PVTIME – ES Foundry, an American company advancing the US solar industry by bringing crystalline solar cell production onshore, celebrated the opening of its high-volume manufacturing facility.

It is expected to reach a shipping capacity of 3GW by Q3 2025, positioning ES Foundry as a cornerstone of the domestic solar supply chain. In addition, ES Foundry is on track to become the largest manufacturer of high-quality crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar cells in the United States, with plans to employ approximately 500 local residents by June 2025.

The new factory and ambitious US solar manufacturing expansion plan play a critical role in advancing the Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) goal of 100 GW of renewable energy manufacturing capacity by 2030, including 50 GW of solar manufacturing.To underscore its readiness and role in reshaping the domestic clean energy landscape, the company recently announced its first GW+ multi-year contract with a leading solar module manufacturer.
