TMEIC’s New PV Inverter Factory in the USA Fully Operational

PVTIME – Recently, a PV factory initiated by TMEIC Corporation Americas, a leader in renewable energy technologies and a subsidiary of TMEIC Corporation (Japan), began production in Waller County, Texas, USA. The new facility has been producing utility-scale PV inverters since November 2024 and has produced more than 300 PV inverters before reaching full capacity on 5 February 2025.

When the manufacturing programme was announced in August 2024, TMEIC targeted an initial nominal annual capacity of 9GW of PV inverters, with upgrades planned to further increase the nominal capacity, according to TMEIC. At the time, TMEIC also announced that it would relocate its US headquarters from Roanoke, Virginia to Houston, Texas in March 2025.

The opening of this facility is a cornerstone of TMEIC’s strategy to expand its US manufacturing footprint to meet the growing demand for renewable energy solutions. The Westport facility is designed to produce high quality PV inverters that will help drive the transition to clean, sustainable energy in North America. With the expanded production capacity, TMEIC is well positioned to meet market demand and contribute significantly to the growth of the US solar industry.
