The capital investment for this project is approximately $850 million (approximately 6.15 billion yuan). T1 Energy has entered into a lease and purchase option for 100 acres in the Sandow Lakes Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Park in Milam County, Texas, and is targeting a construction start in mid-2025 and production start in H2 2026.
At the same time, T1 Energy announced that production progress at its G1 Dallas module manufacturing facility in the US has exceeded expectations. In the first two months of 2025, total module production exceeded 220MW, 48% more than planned. Four large-scale production lines are currently installed and operational at the project, producing PERC and TOPCon modules.
T1 Energy was previously known as FREYR Battery. On 24 December 2024, FREYR announced the completion of the acquisition of Trina Solar’s 5GW module factory in Texas and renamed it G1 Dallas. T1 Energy expects the G1 Dallas module assembly plant to reach 3.4GW production capacity in 2025.
