PVTIME – The second edition of GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC brought together over 8800 visitors interested in innovation, sustainability and the future of green technologies. Under a new format that also integrated the URBAN SMART EXPO concept, this year’s exhibition turned into a complex platform for dialogue and presentation of innovation in the four sectors that fully address the sustainable life of communities – energy, waste, water, smart city.
The largest local event in the field of sustainability was officially inaugurated in the presence of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the Ministry of Energy and the Department for Sustainable Development of the Romanian Government, institutional partners of the event.

Held on 15,000 sqm, the exhibition included thousands of solutions and equipment with innovative technologies from 500 brands focused on renewable energy production, smart waste collection, sorting and recycling, drinking and wastewater management, energy efficiency, digitized public services and smart transformation of urban life. With an increase of 100% compared to the 2024 edition, it occupied the largest exhibition pavilion in Romania – Pavilion B2 – along with the outdoor platforms within the ROMEXPO Exhibition Complex. Over 200 companies from 15 countries were present, and this year’s novelty was the coagulated representation in national pavilions of countries such as China, Switzerland, Poland.

During the three days, presentations, panels and debates dedicated to topics of interest in the local and European context were held. Topics such as legislative changes at European level on the environment, the new directive on urban wastewater treatment, the price of energy and the impact of the elimination of the capping scheme, investment opportunities in renewable resources, the regulation for the integration of energy storage, green energy for self-consumption were just some of the topics addressed. Over 150 relevant international and local speakers brought a rich perspective on the needs and opportunities of each sector, the necessary public policies, local and European changes and regulations, trends in the exhibition area, etc.

Topics of interest to the local administration were also debated – from accelerating the green transition (attracting funds, sustainable infrastructure, digitalization, regulations and legislative challenges) to strategic investments in energy, water, waste. One of the most awaited moments was the Congress of Mayors and Local Administration of Romania, which brought together over 500 mayors, presidents of county councils and other decision-makers from the local administration.
“It is extraordinary what we have achieved through a joint effort between the private sector and innovation creators, the public sector, associations in the field, media partners and each of those interested in the field of sustainability. We have created the largest meeting place for green technology and dialogue between professionals in the field and representatives of the business and administrative environment, and the unprecedented participation shows us the need to create this ecosystem that will shape a sustainable life for all of us. We are grateful to each of them and confident that we can take this initiative even further, at the caliber of large–scale projects taking place in Europe”, says Camelia Buda, General Manager of EUROEXPO FAIRS.
“The 2025 edition of GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC confirms ROMEXPO’s strategic direction of becoming an active player in accelerating the green transition. We are not only the most important event organizer in Romania, but a real catalyst for change – the place where innovation, expertise and decision meet. Through strong partnerships and an integrated approach, we continue to support the development of a sustainable, smart and collaborative environment.
