PVTIME – JinkoSolar announced that its large-area, N-type, TOPCon, monocrystalline silicon cell conversion efficiency has reached 24.9%, setting a new world record. The test results have been independently certified by the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) in Germany.
“The record-breaking monocrystalline silicon solar cell was fabricated on a high quality, low defect CZ mono-Si substrate,” the company said in a statement. “Advanced diffusion with highly activated dopant, high-quality surface passivation, JinkoSolar highly conductive passivating contact technologies and a series of innovative technologies and material upgrade[s] were integrated into the cell process,” JinkoSolar noted. JinkoSolar’s previous record of 24.79%, which was also verified by the ISFH, was achieved in July of 2020.
JinkoSolar has led global photovoltaic module shipments from 2016 to 2019. At the same time, in the field of solar cell technology, it has continued to invest heavily in the research and development of high-efficiency cells. This record-breaking achievement this time is the result of years of dedication.
