PVTIME – Yesterday, Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as “Zhonghuan Semiconductor”) held the signing ceremony for its “50GW solar-grade monocrystalline silicon material smart factory and related supporting industry projects” (hereinafter referred to as “the project”) in Yinchuan, Ningxia Province.
The strategic cooperation agreement signed between Zhonghuan Semiconductor and The People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region this time will see Zhonghuan Semiconductor investing a total of 12 billion yuan to develop its first project in Ningxia. Zhonghuan expressed that the cooperation between the two parties will help the photovoltaic market better meet its future needs for new energy materials, and further consolidate and enhance the company’s global leading position in the new energy materials industry.
The project will continue to support the development of the 210mm (G12) photovoltaic industry chain, provide high-quality production capacity for the industry, and improve the photovoltaic industry during the global energy transition. After the project is put into production, the total monocrystalline production capacity of Zhonghuan Semiconductor will exceed 135GW.
